Did someone say “update”?
This week we’ve got some news on our latest update, a new group on the ACN to help with vendor update notifications, and information on outdated hardware. Plus, our October Hardware Sales specials. Read on to learn more.
New season, new version: The Fall 2016 version of Ascend is quickly becoming the most installed version in the wild. If you haven’t updated yet, make sure to plan your upgrade to take advantage of a more streamlined database and avoid a Trek Credit Card service interruption.
Ascend versions prior to Fall 2016 will be unable to process Trek Cards after October 31st, 2016. Update today to take advantage of stress-free EMV processing with both credit and debit cards, a new cash drawer counter, and automated reports.

This week, we’re introducing the Vendor Product Updates group to help keep you informed on the availability of new vendor product spreadsheets. Once you join, you’ll start receiving notifications whenever either the Ascend Sales Wizard or the Ascend website get updated with new product or pricing information.
Stubborn hardware: Having trouble with hardware? Make sure you’re keeping pace with new versions to avoid running into trouble during a sale. Due to the production discontinuation by their manufacturer, the following products are no longer for sale from Ascend:
- Zebra 2824 (Discontinued, Unsupported)
- Epson IV (Discontinued, Limited Support)
- VeriFone 1000SE PINpad (Discontinued, Limited Support)
- MagTek Swipe Reader (Discontinued)
- MC1000 (Discontinued)
If you’re having difficulties printing, are getting invalid printer errors, or if your cash drawer isn’t opening, double-check that you have a default printer selected. The default printer should be active and online. If you do not, set the default printer and give it another try!
