Say ‘Hello’ to Summer

Hooray! Summer 2016 launches today! Here’s what you need to know to get updated to the newest version – along with information on our upcoming holiday hours and brand-new help site. Not to mention one last chance to check out our June hardware sale.

Summer 2016 Release: Summer 2016 became available today (June 28th, 2016). If you are a Chase Paymentech integrated retailer, the release is available if you have filled out the end-to-end encryption addendum with Chase.  For multi-store retailers that are Chase Paymentech integrated, your secondary locations will be able to update within 24 hours of the primary location updating.

Credit or Debit? Swipe or dip? If you or your employees have any questions or confusion on how to handle chip and non-chip credit and debit cards in the Summer 2016 version of Ascend, check out (and maybe print out) this handy chart in our help documentation.

 

Speaking of Our Help Documentation… We’re moving to a new (and improved!) format for our online help. Since is a rather large undertaking, it will be something of a slow process. We’ve replaced the Help home page with one that links to both the old version and new version – anything that was touched in the Summer 2016 version is in the “new help,” while all of the existing functions are in the “old.” We plan to move everything over to the new site ASAP and will be removing the old site once that process is complete. Thanks for your patience!

Limited Support Coming Up: We’ve got special Holiday Hours coming up for the US Fourth of July holiday. There will be limited support available via our Emergency Line on both Friday, July 1st and Monday, July 4th from 8am-5pm Central. That Saturday and Sunday (the 2nd and 3rd) will also have Emergency Support from 8am-5pm Central. And we will be back with our normal support hours on Tuesday, July 5th.

So What Makes an Emergency? In general, if you are not able to run Sales, then you may have an emergency. This could mean your computer is completely down or unable to connect to the network, the Ascend system freezes up when you take a payment and does not record the payments, or other situations along these lines.

    Greetings:

    I just left a message on your answering machine. Hoping to hear back from someone regarding the Ascend Program. We would love to use it, however, our accounting program is SAGE not Quick Books. SAGE is an accountants program…a terrific accounting program that integrates with our current POS AccuPOS. I would much prefer to use Ascend. I was told, the last time I called, that Ascend was going through changes so that it would integrate with SAGE… and the beta test was being done in England. Did that ever happen? What is the status now? Can we hope to get it happening soon? Inquiring minds want to know. Love you to call me back at your earliest convenience. 250-597-0997.       Thanks for reaching out – since you’ve called in I’ll let our Support Team reach out to you regarding the details, but in short: yes! We’re aware of Sage and are hoping to integrate it into Ascend soon.
