The End of "Oops!"
Currently in Ascend, when you open a product record, it goes right to the Quantity field. On occasion this leads to people mistakenly changing the quantity on hand. When they do, there’s no trace of what happened except for an inventory adjustment that says “Changed quantity within Product Editor”.
In the upcoming Version 2.7 we’ve put an end to this:
- When you open up a product record the default control is now given to the Cancel button. So anything you inadvertently enter on your keyboard won’t affect the record. Hit your tab key once and you’ll be taken to the Description field.
- You need permission to adjust product quantity . You’ll need to have the “Inventory Adjustment – Add” permission. If you want people to be able to change other product details but not the quantity, you’ll have the flexibility to do that.
- Quantity changes will be trackable. To change the quantity in the product record window you have to click the new Adjust button. From there you’ll be taken to the standard Inventory Adjustment window where you’ll be required to choose an adjustment type and fill in comments.
Version 2.7 is scheduled to be available to our Release Candidate dealers on August 20th. If you’d like to be part of this group, contact our Ascend Support Team for more details. 2.7 will be available for everyone on September 17th.Tags: in-store products, Inventory, Inventory Adjustment Types, Version 2.7
