First-quarter retailer update

On behalf of the entire Ascend team, I hope your 2022 is off to a great start! Our purpose every day is to help you thrive. We do that by focusing our work in two key areas:

First, we focus on improvements to help your retail profit machine perform better. This includes improvements to help your sales, service, and inventory teams operate more effectively and provide outstanding customer hospitality. This also includes reporting to let you know how you’re performing.

Second, we focus on being your unified commerce platform by connecting Ascend to your websites, your suppliers, your payment processing platforms, and your bookkeeping systems.

Throughout the coming year I’ll look forward to updating you on the major improvements we’re making in these two areas. Here’s what you should know today:

RPM enhancements: For this update we’ve focused on helping you to better manage your inventory.

  • We’re excited to introduce the new Ascend Cloud Product Catalog. One of the most important tasks you have is building your product records database. With the new catalog you’ll be able to create products on demand as opposed to importing entire supplier catalogs. We’ll start out with support for Trek products and add more suppliers in the coming months.
  • For your buyers, we’re pleased to introduce the new Special Order Management Tool on Ascend HQ. This will be the one, central place for them to view and prep special order requests for all your locations.

Unified Commerce Platform enhancements

Last year we introduced two new key integrations in the US and look forward to expanding compatibility for them to other markets soon. If you haven’t taken advantage of them yet, use the links below to learn more about using them with Ascend:

  • Locally is a platform that makes it easy for retailers to engage more online shoppers. Use it to create easy, awesome online shopping experiences for local customers by displaying and selling directly from your Ascend inventory on,, and your own website! This is available today in Australia, Canada, and the United States. It will be available in many more countries later this year. 
  • Klarna is Trek’s new financing partner and helps retailers attract, convert, and retain customers by offering flexible payment options and giving them more purchasing power. It’s also fully integrated with Ascend, giving retailers an easy way to process payments without leaving the app. Klarna is available today in the U.K. and the U.S. and will be available in more countries this year.

Expanded support

To help ensure you and your team receive a live answer anytime you call, we’ve updated the Ascend phone support schedule. The new support hours begin 30 minutes before stores open on the East Coast and 30 minutes after stores close on the West Coast, so you and your team are always set up for success.

This change also eliminates emergency on-call support restrictions.

That means that you no longer need to have issues affecting sales processing to contact us during evenings or weekends. With these improved hours, we’ve extended full support throughout the week for all questions, without needing to wait for a callback:

Monday-Friday- 8:00a.m.-8:30p.m. CST

Saturday- 8:30a.m.-8:30p.m. CST

Sunday- 9:30a.m.- 7:30p.m. CST
